MY HOME TOWN
The name of my home town is Kisoreganj. It is a district headquarter and is only 145 kilometers northeast of Dhaka. The name came from the name of an old landlord known as Nandakishore Pramanik. There are 8 towns, 13 upazilas, 110 unions and 1794 villages in this district. The area of kishoreganj town is 19.57 square kilometers. There are many important places in and around this small town. They are Solakia Eid Ground, The Pagla Mosque, Govt Gurudayal College, The Shah Muhammad Mosque, The Shiva Temple etc. Kishorganj is also famous as the home of some important personalities like women poet Chandrabati, Sayed Nazrul Islam who is the first acting president of Bangladesh, famous writer Upendrakishore Roy Chowdhury and Sukumar Roy. Zainul Abedin, the greatest master of painting also comes from Kishoreganj. I am really very proud of my home town.
